Description
Beautiful monochrome portrait, painted on glass in the traditional kiln fired method, depicting a woman who has lived a life full of mischief, love, sorrow and joy (one imagines!).
The central painting is framed by spring green colours of yellows and greens, to form a juxtaposition, spring next to the beautiful autumn stage of the woman’s life.
Alongside the portrait is the quote “Ageing is not about how many years have passed, but how much life you’ve embraced” Sophia Loren
As a woman `of a certain age’ the artist is exploring the nature and external perception of an ageing edifice surrounding a body which has experienced a lifetime of love, mischief, sorrow and joy and still feels the warmth of spring despite her autumn years.
36 x 27cm. Designed to be displayed in natural light. Supplied with hanging chain.
